Success online requires integrating your entire digital presence

Business Communications Strategist and Storyteller Cathy Brooks says social media has made it even more crucial for people to be able to articulate their personal identity.

She notes that even in the fragmentation we experience online an opportunity exists to embrace the complexities of our own personal narrative.

Initially trained as a Journalist, Cathy now works with companies and individuals helping them navigate new technologies to tell their stories.

Every week Cathy hosts Social Media Hour, a live, call-in, talk show on which industry leaders and average folks share their experiences on how technology is infiltrating their lives and the social experiences that result. Previously, she led business development for Seesmic, a San Francisco-based start-up building a social software platform to integrate people's entire digital presence.

Prior to Seesmic, Cathy worked with Guidewire Group -- a global analyst firm focused on emerging markets and technologies. Cathy also has produced and/or curated the content for several of the technology industry's leading conferences, including Innovate!Europe and LeWeb, the largest technology gathering in Europe.

Her resume also includes a job with TechTV, running the talent and guest booking departments, and several executive positions with PR agencies ranging from business development to account management.
